Steps in Cleaning your Car's Rubber Matting

Rubber matting is one of the basic accessories of your car. It protects the interior from dirt, grease and mud.

It’s time to give your rubber mats some love:

Step #1

Where possible, remove the rubber mats from your car. Do not try to clean removable rubber matting while it is still inside the vehicle as the cleaning agents, even water, could damage the car’s interior.

Step #2

Use an all-purpose cleaner and apply the product generously. Wait for the dirt to soften.

Step #3

Grab the hosepipe or pressure washer and rinse the matting. Make sure that all traces of the cleaner and the dirt are removed. You can use a bucket of water if you don’t have a pressure washer.

Step #4

Dry the rubber matting. The fastest way to do this is by laying it under the sun.

Step #5

After drying, restore the look of the rubber. Apply a rubber dressing product directly onto the matting.

Step #6

To finish off, brush the rubber mat. This is done to ensure that the rubber dressing penetrates every part of the rubber matting. You can actually use a micro fibre towel if you want.

The rubber mats in your car are very easy to clean. Just follow these steps and you are good to go!
