Eco-friendly Properties of Natural Rubber

“Going green” is a market trend that urges consumers to pay more attention to products that help towards a positive social and environmental reform. While it can be a bit overwhelming, an easy way to start adapting to an eco-friendly lifestyle is to purchase green products for your home; such as natural rubber sheeting.

The life cycle of natural rubber – from harvesting to production – provides less impact on the environment! Here are some more of its eco-friendly properties:

Naturally-Sourced

Natural rubber sheets are made from latex that is sourced from the Para rubber tree, also known as Hevea brasiliensis. Aside from producing latex, the Para rubber tree is also known to reduce carbon dioxide in the air; which helps towards maintaining the carbon balance in our atmosphere!

Non-toxic

Since it comes entirely from a natural source, natural rubber does not contain any petroleum, heavy metals or cancer triggering chemicals that are hazardous to human health.

Sustainable

Para rubber trees are a renewable source; when the tree can no longer produce latex (usually after 12 years) a new sapling can be replanted.

Biodegradable

Natural rubber biodegrades but at a much slower rate than other substances. Weathering can also break it down to its basic elements without causing any environmental damage.

Coruba offers natural rubber sheeting that promotes great wear and abrasion resistance. With all your enquiries, please call 01702 560194 or email us at info@coruba.co.uk.
