5 of the World’s Coolest Gyms

Pretty much everyone has worked out at some point in their lives - but some gyms are just too special to miss! This blog explores five of the world's coolest gyms that should definitely be on your bucket list:

Gym

1. Athletes’ Performance Gym in Phoenix, Arizona

This gym has one of the most exclusive training programmes in the world and is frequented by professional sports stars such as NFL player Mario Williams and basketball player Kevin Love. The facilities include premier equipment that includes an underwater treadmill, a 60-metre track and an 80-yard football pitch. It also has hot and cold pools, on-site physiotherapy and a premier executive training programme. It's hard to find anywhere more luxurious than the Athletes’ Performance Gym, where you can train alongside some of the top athletes in the world.

2. Level 9, Hotel Icon, Hong Kong

This health club overlooks Hong Kong's amazing harbour and skyline and has a state-of-the-art gym, open-air heated rooftop pool, spa and pool bar. The fitness centre is open 24 hours a day and offers Technogym cardiovascular workouts and plenty of weight training equipment. Enjoy a workout at the gym, a swim and a relaxing spa to wind down, followed by healthy drinks and snacks at the bar as you look out from the ninth floor over the spectacular city. The Angsana Spa by Banyan Tree is a renowned name in fitness and wellbeing, offering health and massage treatments in contemporary treatment rooms.

3. Paresa Resort, Phuket, Thailand

The gym at this tropical beach resort offers spectacular views over the Andaman Sea, which is just one of its many attractions. The hotel also has a pool with a similar view and modern state-of-the-art fitness equipment. When you've finished working out, there's a spa where you can sample Thai ancient healing techniques, including products made from plants picked from the resort's own hydroponic garden. The balconies in the treatment suites also overlook the sea.

Spa

4. Atomic Spa, Milan, Italy

One of the most spectacular building interiors in the world, the Atomic Spa in the Boscola Milano Hotel is a haven for visitors who wish to keep fit or relax. Fitness fans can enjoy the cardiovascular equipment and free weights in the well-stocked gym, where a personal fitness trainer is available on request. There's also an indoor swimming pool. The spa is spectacular, with a sauna, treatment cabins, whirlpool, Turkish bath, hydro massage jets and a relaxation area.

5. SP Health, Jubilee Place, Chelsea, London

Often called the "most exclusive gym in the world", SP Health was opened by celebrity fitness guru Stephen Price. It permits only 30 members at any given time - it has a number of celebrity clientele who prefer a private workout away from the press. The gym is furnished with TechnoGym equipment and it even has Europe’s most innovative altitude chamber, where you can work out at the equivalent of 12,500-feet, burning twice the calories in only half the time. Seven health experts provide each member with their own unique "prescription service", liaising with gyms abroad so that when you travel your fitness plan can continue.

Make sure your gym experience is both enjoyable and safe by using only the best equipment, such as Coruba's rubber gym mats, which are beneficial in a gym environment - including yoga, Pilates, workouts, crossfit sessions and high-intensity interval training.
