A Quick Guide to Perfectly Maintained Anti-fatigue Mats

Industries today want real value for money. That’s why when it comes to flooring options rubber flooring has always been a top choice: known for its distinct versatility, one of its most valued features is its unique anti-fatigue properties. Anti-fatigue mats are designed to reduce pain, discomfort or fatigue caused by standing on hard surfaces for a long period of time. Rubber Anti-fatigue mats especially prevail in high traffic environments such as in the kitchen, at the gym and at workstations. Gyms and fitness centres for example, need a flooring solution that can resist the pressure of heavy equipment and foot traffic - anti-fatigue matting can protect the floor from dropped weights, whilst also relieving tired muscles during intense workouts.

Maintaining Anti-Fatigue Mats

There are a few misconceptions about rubber anti-fatigue mats, the most common being that they are hard and costly to maintain. You’d be surprised, how easy it is to maintain anti-fatigue floor mats - here is our quick guide:

Sweep or Vacuum Daily

This will help to rid loose soil and dirt that is visible to the eye.

Use a Mild Soap or Detergent

To rid your mats of grease and oil, use a high-pressure hose not exceeding 1800 psi. The water temperature should be no colder than 49 ͦC and no hotter than 60 ͦC. Do not use harsh chemicals or mechanical scrubs, since they can damage the mat’s surface.

Take your Mat Outside when Cleaning

Rubber mats are not meant to be cleaned indoors; take them outside and shake them vigorously. You’d be surprised at how much dirt this will remove.

Make sure the Mats are rinsed thoroughly and completely dry before Use

Take your time to thoroughly clean and drain the mats. Make sure there’s no soap residue or detergent accumulation and allow ample time for the mats to completely dry off.
