Electrical rubber matting is subject to international safety standards, which assure its suitability for various uses.
The International Standard IEC6111:2009 sets out the legal requirements for rubber insulating matting for electrical purposes. It specifies the construction materials, width, thickness and the testing conditions and results required to meet the standard.
We stock a number of options for IEC6111:2009 rubber electrical matting, in various standards, from Class 0 up to Class 4.
The industry standards are as follows:
• Class 0: Maximum safety working voltage of 1,000v, for low-voltage use.
• Class 1: Maximum safety working voltage of 7,500v.
• Class 2: Maximum safety working voltage of 17,000v.
• Class 3: Maximum safety working voltage of 26,500v.
• Class 4: Maximum safety working voltage of 36,000v.
The underside of each IEC:6111 mat is marked at 1,000mm intervals with a colour-coded label specifying the voltage-class and rating.
