coruba is a division of Accrasystem Ltd, one of the leading UK suppliers of rubber and plastics products, and was launched to help develop new products with a view to complementing and enhancing the extensive existing range.

THE METROPOLITAN ASBESTOS and RUBBER CO. LTD was formed in the late 1940s covering the manufacture of industrial rubber products, asbestos insulation, sealing and packing materials. The company was purchased by its present owners during the 1980s and subsequently evolved into Accrasystem Ltd a private, family-run limited company

Due to the demise of asbestos related products, we placed more emphasis and development on the rubber and plastic product lines, in particular, rubber sheetings, jointings, seals and flooring products. To this end we have become one of the leading UK suppliers, supplying a large converter and distributor network.

Further expansion occurred in 2001, with the acquisition of THE WATERFORD RUBBER MANUFACTURING CO LTD, another long established company with roots dating back to the late 1930s. Based in Harrow, Middlesex, this part of our organisation now specialises in the supply of extruded and moulded rubber and plastic products with approvals from many blue-chip customers in the railway, automobile, electronics and construction industry.

With increasing demand and requests for our products, further expansion was made during 2002 with the opening of our unit in Cottenham, Cambridgeshire. This has enabled us to offer a further service, focusing on special cut pieces and parts.

We now operate from three sites totalling in excess of 30,000 sq ft of storage, fabrication and working space, with an extensive range of products from stocks exceeding 500 tons.
